Ditching & Sea Survival Seminar

Wednesday 15th June 2022

There are still a few places left on Gasco’s Ditching & Sea Survival Seminar at Andark Diving & Watersports, 256 Bridge Road, Lower Swanwick, Southampton SO31 7FL. The day will consist of some lectures on the practical aspects of ditching including the medical aspects of survival by Prof Michael Bagshaw, a demonstration of GA survival aids, a chance to use these in a formal training session in the Andark Lake and the opportunity to learn underwater escape drills in the dunker. Delegates are welcome to bring their own equipment. Rest assured that our experienced team of instructors will make this a thoroughly enjoyable day and look after your safety at all times.

The seminar which is supported by SEMS Aerosafe and Andark costs £390, which includes all equipment, refreshments and lunch.

Andark runs a campsite at the beautiful Andark lake site which can be another way of reducing the costs for those who have to travel some distance and would have to seek overnight accommodation in a hotel.

Please contact penny@gasco.org.uk or telephone 01634 200203 for further information and reserve your place but please act soon as they will be closing the list soon.

Met Office

Thursday 20th Oct 2022

This seminar hardly needs any introduction. Gasco have been running it for the past twelve years and it’s one of their most popular events. Delegates receive first-class instruction given by lecturers from the Met Office College, participate in interesting exercises and consider weather scenarios designed to foster improved decision-making in pre-flight planning and in-flight. Threat and Error Management specific to weather related decisions is covered as is discussion on the resources available to the GA pilot.

There is an opportunity to see meteorologists at work in the impressive Met Office building at Exeter during the day. Lunch is available in the excellent cafeteria (not included in the price).

You are strongly advised to register early for this seminar which is always fully booked some weeks ahead.
